Our lab offers an exciting range of opportunities for undergraduate students interested in exploring the vast and interconnected fields within marine science. Through Dr. Thoma’s role as Director of the Marine Science Program at Jackson State University, our lab is linked with an extensive network of partnerships that extend into engineering, environmental technology, and various subfields of oceanography. This broad scope allows undergraduates to engage in interdisciplinary projects that go beyond our focus.

Graduate Students

Jackson State University offers graduate degrees in Biology with areas of emphasis in Environmental Science and Marine Biology. Graduate students are typically funded through our program partners however, funding stands on a case by case basis. Dr. Thoma encourages students to also seek external and individual funding.
